New director of exports and in­vest­ments at Bus­iness Ice­land

Árni Alvar Arason

Árni Alvar Arason is the new director of export and investment at Business Iceland. Árni will lead the division's work and manage the development of export services for Icelandic companies.

Árni Alvar Arason is the new director of export and investment at Business Iceland. Árni will lead the division's work and manage the development of export services for Icelandic companies.

Árni has extensive knowledge of Icelandic exports and of bringing Icelandic products to markets in Europe, Asia, and North America. He has over 20 years of experience as managing director of Össur, one of Iceland's leading export companies. He served as the company's CFO and director of sales, marketing, and business development. He also guided Össur's expansion into foreign markets and was responsible for building markets in Europe, Asia, and Oceania, where Össur is now firmly positioned. He was Ossur's CEO in Asia from 2006 to 2018.

Since 2019, he has worked in Germany as an independent consultant, among other things, for Icelandic companies in the development phase.

Árni has a master's degree in business economics from the University of Trier in Germany and a postgraduate diploma in electronic management from the Hyper Island Institute in Singapore.
